Itinerary

8:00 AM: We depart from Cusco towards our first stop, the archaeological site of Moray. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Andean landscapes, with towering mountains and lush green valleys.

9:30 AM: We arrive at Moray, renowned for its circular agricultural terraces. These terraces were used by the Incas as an agricultural laboratory to experiment with different crops and microclimates. Here, you will learn about the advanced agricultural techniques of the Incas and the significance of this site in the research and adaptation of new plants. You will have time to explore the terraces and appreciate Inca engineering and agricultural knowledge.

11:00 AM: We head to Maras, home to the impressive salt mines. These ancient salt pans have been in use since pre-Inca times and are still operational today. The Maras salt mines are a stunning visual spectacle, with thousands of salt pools evaporating water to extract salt. Here, you will learn about the traditional salt extraction process and the economic and cultural importance of this site to the region.

12:30 PM: After exploring the salt mines, you will have the opportunity to visit the town of Maras and enjoy its local atmosphere. You can buy local products, including the famous Maras salt, and take a short break.

1:00 PM: We start our return journey to Cusco, once again enjoying the beautiful landscapes of the Sacred Valley.

2:00 PM: We arrive back in Cusco, concluding our half-day tour filled with learning, history, and spectacular landscapes.
